Africa Cancer Foundation was launched on July 2012 to create awareness on cancer in Africa with a vision of “A Cancer – Free Africa”. Africa Cancer Foundation believes that through awareness and regular screening, the ravaging effects of cancer can be reduced, as this will result in early detection and treatment, leading to a decrease in the mortality rates and morbidity as well as reduced cost of treatment.
Since 2012, Africa Cancer Foundation has screened over 12,000 people in 10 counties in Kenya for prostate, breast and cervical cancers. Africa Cancer Foundation developed books and simple fact sheets for general cancer awareness.
Africa Cancer Foundation is gearing to raise funds for establishing a state of the art cancer centre here in Kenya that will meet the cancer needs of the disadvantaged members of the society in the region.
