Africa Cancer Foundation

A charitable trust to create awareness on the prevention, management and treatment of cancer in Africa. Africa Cancer Foundation was formed on April 6, 2011 as a charitable Trust and launched on July 12, 2011 in Nairobi, Kenya. The Foundation creates awareness on the prevention, management and treatment of cancer in Africa. It also seeks to establish best practice standards and promote exchange of experience with existing centres of excellence around the world. In line with this, ACF chose the West African Adinkra symbol “Hwe Mu Dua” or the “measuring stick” – a symbol of examination and quality control as its logo. This symbol stresses the need to strive for the best quality, and this is exactly what ACF seeks to do.

To create links with existing cancer authorities in the world;
To mobilise resources for cancer care in Africa;
To conduct research on cancer prevention, early diagnosis, treatment and support in Africa;
To provide information on prevention, early diagnosis, treatment and support in Africa;
To provide access to affordable and effective early diagnosis, treatment and support in Africa;
To train health care professionals in Africa on cancer management;
To establish comprehensive cancer centres in Africa.
